Unconditional Love
Is highs and lows, wins and losses dependent on others telling you that yes you heard from God? It is dependent on what God has spoken to your heart, backed up by His word and His word alone. People can confirm what God has said but in reality, your relationship with Christ is YOURS alone. Let God be your shepherd, your measuring stick for yourself.
John 10:27-28 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
This right here says that if you are His child and you proclaim Christ is your savior then you hear from HIm. God wants to speak to each of us. Our relationship with Him is just as valuable, powerful, needed and wanted as His relationship with a pastor, deacon or elder.
Do you need a measure of how a person is growing in God? It is truly none of our business. We can see how others are acting, speaking, living and whatnot. In reality God knows who His children are and loves them all. He knows where each of us are at with Him and loves us where we are. So, who are we to say someone has been in Christ long enough to be or do this or that? We are no one. We are commanded to work out our own salvation in fear and trembling Philipians 2:12.
Is there such a thing as a measuring stick?I don’t know. I have struggled with this as others have spoken things into my life. The more I have gotten to know who Christ is the more I have trouble saying that a person who has been “saved”, “delivered”, should be living, speaking or dressing a certain way. God is revealed to each of us differently at different times. We can not judge people for where they are at. It could be that God is dealing with them right where they are. That means Christ has that person excitably where they need to be. So why judge. We need to love them.
Just love each other and Christ will do the rest.
